Big Sister Daniella

Matched with Little Sister Amanda[/fwp-anim-text][fwp-anim-text animated=”true” animation=”enter right move 10px over 1s after”]Daniella is a senior at Middle College High School in San Bernardino, takes courses at San Bernardino Valley College, maintains a 3.9 grade point average and is on the honor roll. In addition, she has volunteered as a mentor in the High School Bigs program for the past three years. Every week, she arrives to site with a positive attitude and is excited to not only help her Little Sister Amanda but all students in the program.

Her passion and enthusiasm have also contributed to the success of the Big Brothers Big Sisters club at her high school. Demonstrating great leadership and organizational skills, Daniella recruited more than 30 volunteers and launched fundraisers to bring fun activities to site such as an end-of-the-year celebration.

“She is a dedicated, caring and patient volunteer,” says Mara Montelongo, Big Brothers Big Sisters program specialist. “She has fulfilled the role and responsibility of being a positive mentor and role model for Amanda beyond expectations.”

Big Brother Peter

Matched with Little Brother Aaron [/fwp-anim-text][fwp-anim-text animated=”true” animation=”enter right move 10px over 1s after”]Peter has overcome personal struggles to be where he is at today: a confident, student-athlete approaching graduation from Corona High School and an outstanding mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He did not let the challenges he faced hold him back and instead developed incredible tenacity to be the best version of himself.

“Peter displays a positive level of humility as he approaches site each week,” says Jeffery Davis, Big Brothers Big Sisters program specialist. “Managing the daily task of being a student and student-athlete, Peter has done a great job of setting a positive example and ensuring his Little Brother is taken care of each week.”

Peter and Aaron share a love for soccer, which has helped the two bond. In fact, because of their shared interests, Peter found ways to relate to and motivate Aaron on and off the field. With Peter’s example, Aaron has made a stronger effort to not give up on himself and is now eager to set and accomplish his goals.[/fwp-anim-text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
